Özet
Ötekileştir(il)me, tarih boyunca var olan bir problemdir. Bunun birey, grup ya da bir topluluğa yansıması kimi zaman ırk, kimi zaman renk, kimi zaman bir ideoloji, kimi zaman ise bireydeki bedensel bir kusur vs. üzerindendir. Bunlar;bir bireyin, bir grubun, etnik bir topluluğunvs. ötekileştirilmesinin, toplumun kıyısına itilmesinin sebeplerini teşkil etmiştir.
Bu çalışmanın amacı da Sabahattin Ali’nin Değirmen adlı öyküsünü, etkileri oldukça geniş ve tarihsel olan ötekileştir(il)meyi merkeze alarak incelemektir. Bu doğrultuda makaledeöncelikle öteki, ötekileştir(il)me kavramları ortaya konacak ve daha sonra da yaşadığı dönem içerisinde bir öteki olarak görülen Sabahattin Ali’nin Değirmen adlı öyküsünde görülen etnik ötekileştirme ve bedensel engellilik nedeniyle ötekileştirilme ele alınacaktır.

Abstract
Otherisation is the problem which exist throughout history. The reflection of those on individual, groups and communities grew now on race and colour, then an ideology or bodily deficiency. Those stood as the causes of individual's being othered and excluded from society.
The aim of this study is, examining Sabahattin Ali’s story called Değirmen with centralize otherisationing which has quite wide and historical effect. İn this direction, in the this article, firstly concepts of other and otherisationing will be processed then the other will be dealt with ethnic otherisation and otherisation of due to physical disability seen in the Sabahattin Ali 's story called Değirmen, who is seen as other in the period he lived.
