Özet
Gelenek, bireyi çözülmekten, dağılmaktan, anlamsızlaşmaktan ve degersizleşmekten kurtaran oluşturucu ve yapıcı bir kaynaktır. Modernizm ise, gelenek temeli üzerinde şekillenen bir ilerleme, gelişim, atılım ve aydınlanma bütünüdür. Gelenek ve modernizm siirecinde varhk bulan Nazan Bekiroılu'nun Yusuf ile Züleyha adlı yapıtı, üst anlatı niteliğindeki Kur'an-ı Kerim'deki Yusuf suresi ve gonderge metin olan Hamdullah Hamdi'nin Yusuf u Züleyha mesnevisinden hareketle yapılan bir yeni'den yazma/yeni'den yaratma çabasıdır. Eski'nin zamansal ve mekansal sınırlamalarının aşıldığı Nazan Bekiroğlu'nun Yusuf ile Züleyha'sında, kültürel bellek mekanları metinsel arketip niteliğindedir. Sanatkar, yeni yaratımlara açık geleneksel hayatı ve bu hayata ait değerler manzumesini modernize ederek postmodern biçemin donanımlarında saglam bir biçimsel kurgu ile yeni'den yazar. Bireyin hayat yolculuğunun aşk izleği merkezli anlatıldığı bu yeni'den kurgulama çabası izin anıştırma, öykünme (pastiş), biçimsel dönüşüm,anlatı içinde anlatı ve genişletme (laugmentation) gibi metinler arası teknikleri kullanır. Bu yazınsal ahhm, hem içerik hem biçim ödünçlemesi ile postmodern bir metnin oluşumuna da imkân saglar.

Abstract
While traditions are a formative and constructive source preventing individuals from being decomposed, disintegrated, devalued and meaningless, modernism is the sum of all improvements, developments and enlightenments made on the basis of traditions. Produced in the periods of traditionalism and modernism, Yusuf and Züleyha by Nazan Bekiroğlu is a process of recreation and rewriting based upon the Yusuf Sura in the Kuran-i Kerim as the primary text and Yusuf u Zuleyha by Hamdullah Hamdi as a reference text. Settings of cultural memory in Yusuf and Zuleyha by Bekiroglu,in which time and space limitations of the olden times were extended, have the qualities of a textual archetype. The novelist depicts the traditonal life style, which is open to new recreations , by modernizing it and all of its traditional values in the form of a structural fiction. In the novel, which centerson the sense of love experienced by the individual person during his life time, Bekirog- lu uses such textual techniques as augmentation,story-telling in a story, pastiche, allusion and formal transformation. This literary text is also a post-modern text in terms of its contents and formal borrowings from the past.
