Özet
Peyami Safa’nın romanlarının genellikle mistik bir yapı etrafında kaleme alınmış olması, eserlerinin daha çok varoluşçu bir şekilde incelenmesine sebep olmuştur. Çalışma, Matmazel Noraliya’nın Koltuğu’nda, mistizme zemin hazırlayan toplumsal etkenleri ve bireysel yaşantıları sosyolojik bağlamda tespit edip anlamlandırmak amacıyla düzenlenmiştir. Lucien Goldmann’ın roman sosyolojisi anlayışı çerçevesinde yapılan incelemede öncelikle genel hatlarıyla edebiyat/roman sosyolojisine değinilmiş; ardından toplum-birey, yazar-eser ve eser-yapı arasındaki ilişkiye dikkat çekilmiştir. Yazar-eser bağlamında tespitler yapılırken dönemin Türkiye’sinde hâkim olan ve yazarı etkileyen felsefî/edebî düşünceler/akımlar göz önüne alınmıştır. Yapılan incelemede toplumsal tabakalaşma, fikrî açıdan farklı insan tiplerinin mevcudiyeti, maddî sıkıntılar ve kültürel çatışmalar Roman/edebiyat sosyolojisinin sınırları çerçevesinde belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Safa’nın hayatından ve deneyimlerinden izler taşıyan Matmazel Noraliya’nın Koltuğu romanı bu yönüyle de Goldmann’ın incelemesine uygunluk göstermektedir.

Abstract
Generally having been written out around a mystical structure has caused Peyami Safa’s novels to be examined in amore existentialist way. This study, on Matmazel Noraliya’nın Koltuğu, has been reformed to identify and give meaning to the social factors and individual lives that lay groundwork for mysticism on the sociological context. On the research which has been done on the frame of Lucien Goldmann’s novel-sociology understanding, firstly it has been touched on literature-novel sociology in general terms, and then it was drawn attention to the relationship between society-individual, writer-production and production-structure. The philosophical/literary philosophies/trends which are judges in Turkey and influence the writer were taken into consideration while making determinations in the context of writer-production. In this study, social stratification, the existence of different types of people intellectual, financial problems and cultural conflicts have been tried to be determined within the boundaries of sociology of novel/literature. The novel, Matmazel Noraliya’nın Koltuğu, bearing traces of Safa's life and experiences, is consistent with Goldmann's examination from this aspect as well.
