One of the prominent writers of the post-1940 generation in Turkish literature, Hasan İzzettin Dinamo (1909-1989), started his literary career with poetry. In addition to his identity as a poet, he wrote works in line with the principle of social realism as a novelist. One of these works is the Kutsal İsyan series. In the work in question, the author embodies the spirit of National Struggle and presents it to us in the mirror of historical reality. The work sheds light on the political aspect of the National Struggle and its social and ideological aspects. The desire for independence and the struggle for freedom, which the Turkish people blend with their love of country, are the most important elements that form the consciousness of National Struggle. The plans to share Anatolia, made by the provisions of the Armistice of Mudros, were put into action with the occupation of İzmir by the Greeks in 1918. The Anatolian people left without an owner and found a solution by establishing local resistance units in the face of the surrendering and ineffective attitude of the Istanbul government. These local forces, which would become more active and organized under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Pasha, united under the roof of Kuvayımilliye and played an important role in ensuring regional security. Thus, the Turkish people, who were struggling with all kinds of ugly games and occupations of imperialism, started a total resistance movement against both internal and external enemies. In this study, the role of local forces in the Western Anatolia region within the framework of the National Struggle will be emphasized in Hasan İzzettin Dinamo’s work titled Kutsal İsyan.
