MODERN TURKISH LITERATURE STUDIES IN POLAND
Turcology studies in Poland initiated at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow in the XX. century. Three major universities in Poland include Turcology departments. In these departments, studies generally focus on the Turkish language, Turkish culture and Turkish literature. The studies are not exclusively abouth the Turkish Turks but cover all Turkic populations in the world.
This paper aims to provide bibliographical information about the modern Turkish literature studies in Poland. Firstly tlıe names of the authors and tlıeir studies are referred to with very brief information concerning the contents of the artide or translation, followed by the bibliographical list. The modern Turkish Iiterature studies in Polanda re predominantly observed to be translations. Nevertheless, there are some academic studies in universities as well. Those studies are focused on the poets and writers of the Tanzimat, Servet-i Fünûn and Republican periods.
