THE POEMS WITH THE REPEATED WORD OF "DAĞLARA" (TO THE MOUNTAINS) REFLECTING THE CHANGING NATURE THEME IN ABDULHAMID II ERA LITERATURE

In the period corresponding to the Ara Nesil and Servet-i Fünûn periods of the Abdülhamit II Era Literature, the nature theme in poetry was discussed, on the one hand, with approaches in accordance with the traditional understanding, and began to gain a new meaning with the influences originating from the western romantics, on the other; various poets tended towards this theme in their poems. This also exemplified the transition from Classical literature to the Western literature in terms of both content and form. In this general transition, the mountain as an essential part of nature started to gain prominence as a thematic element in the poetry of the period and this was another remarkable point to be discussed. Abdülhak Hâmid Tarhan's attitude towards wild nature and mountains during his residence in India, and his romantic approach deeply affected the subsequent poets. It was noticed that especially Kürsi-i İstiğrak poetry became prominent in this effect in terms of hearing and saying. In this study, nine poems written around the repeated word of "dağlara" (to the mountains) related to the period mentioned before were identified and analyzed. Moreover, two poems with repeated word of “dağlar” (mountains ) similar to each other were also discussed. Discussing the mountain as a part of nature in totally eleven poems was a remarkable choice and feature that should be considered for the poetry of the period.
