Özet
THE THREE STATES OF AN INDIVIDUAL IN THE NOVEL OF HASAN ALİ TOPBAŞ CALLED BENİ KÖR KUYULARDA
Hasan Ali Toptaş often makes a distinguished name for himself among the last period Turkish novelists with his postmodern novels. In his novel called “Beni Kör Kuyularda” published in 2019, he referred to magical realism, metafiction and it includes postmodern identity in many ways. The novel addressing the events that start with pebbles falling from the eyes of a girl, called Güldiyar living in a suburb of Ankara instead of tears, draws attention to people's watching curiosity. In the novel describing what kind of troubles the individual suffers in a deadlock and how the problems encountered affects her life. The lost sense of empathy and the problems that the people of our age have to face are also addressed. Güldiyar's father Muzaffer slowly collapses spiritually as he blames himself for what happened. Those, who see the stones falling from Güldiyar's eyes an opportunity, ruthlessly exploit the father and daughter. Muzaffer, whose family has fallen apart, tries to protect his daughter against the exploiters, but he himself cannot stop turning into an object of exploitation. The aim of this study is to discuss and examine the states of an individual, who was exploited and schizophrenic, became an object of watching, in the novel Beni Kör Kuyularda.
