A POET IN THE COURT OF NECİP FAZIL’S LITERATURE: TEVFİK FİKRET
Necip Fazıl Kısakürek, one of the prominent poets of Turkish Literature, wrote reviews, sometimes entered into an argument, made some value judgement about writers and poets. In his writings having been published between the years 1945-1946 under the general title ‘ Literature Court’, he evaluates the prominent poets of innovation period of Turkish literature with critical approach by giving place to the views of various writers and poets, as well. The first poet he emphasizes is Tevfik Fikret. With Necip Fazıl’s evaluation, Tevfik Fikret is one of the false fames. He couldn’t go beyond giving imitative writings of the second and third degree poets of French literature. He also has a weak nature in terms of personality. In respect of view, he is someone who benefits from the West and who is far from being beneficial to the new generations. In this writing, primarily critical evaluations that Necip Fazıl made about Tevfik Fikret are going to be tried to be determined. Then, the determination of the characteristics and problems of his critical approach is going to be tried.
