THE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN DESCRIPTIONS IN HALİD ZİYA UŞAKLIGİL’S NOVEL, AŞK-I MEMNU
There are similar or slightly different definitions and approaches about “Description” in dictionaries, encyclopedias, and in several studies (articles, books etc.) because the concept, description occupies a very important place in not only novels but also in areas like fine arts, philosophy, sociology, and pedagogy. Description in literature, is as important as narration in a literary work. In the case of Servet-i Fünun period, the importance of the description and the relationships between descriptions increases in accordance with the period’s conception of art. Description in Servet-i Fünun strolls over body of narration like a spirit. From this point, in this article we want to evaluate the relationships between descriptions in the context of Halid Ziya Uşakligil’s Aşk-ı Memnu.
