BASIC PROBLEMS OF POST-TANZİMAT TURKISH LITERATURE AS DETERMINED BY AHMET HAMDİ TANPINAR
An important feature of Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar, a multi faceted personality, is his academic identity that brings forward his qualities as a scholar, a literary historian and a critic. The determinations, analyses and critics on the problems of post-Tanzîmat Turkish literature of such an intellectual personality, which is nurtured by the accumulations of his artistic qualities, retain their importance. In this article are ephasized Tanpınar’s determinations, analyses and critics (discontinuity, rootlessness, novelty, dualisme, insufficiency of language; resouce, idea, critcs, absence of prose and readers) on the basic problems of post-Tanzîmat Turkish literature, which emerged within the medium of “civilisation shift” as a result of the “civilisation crisis” that the Ottoman-Turkish society went through.
