Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar didn't handle the Milli Mücadele period in his novel Sahnenin Dışındakiler, directly from the view point of the warfront. He rather reflected the social life in Istanbul during the event and how it was perceived in Istanbul. In his aforementioned novel he preferredt o reflect the social cross-sectionse xcludedf rom the scene of Milli Mücadele. Romanında Milll Mücadele sahnesinin dışında kalan toplumsal kesitleri yansıtmayı yeğlemiştir.
