Narratology provides opportunities for numerous studies due to its applicability to various branches. There are various studies in this area researching on theatrical productions and screenplays. Roland Barthes constructionally analyzed narratives by transposing the universality of them, as the first doing so in the narratology studies. This continued by Gérard Genette establishing Poetique magazine with Todorov. Gérard Genette is acknowledged for his work “Narrative Discourse”. He basically divided the narrative discourse into five headings: “Order”, “Time”, “Frequency”, “Mood” and “Voice“. “Order”, “Time” and “Frequency” are the concepts that express the relationship between narrative and time. “Mood” expresses the representation of narrative, and “Voice” expresses the narrative status. Yedi Kocalı Hürmüz was first scripted, and turned into screenplay, then later written out as a theatrical production. It was adapted into screenplays by Yılmaz Atadeniz at 1963, by Atıf Yılmaz at 1971 and by Ezel Akay at 2009. In this study, Yedi Kocalı Hürmüz theatrical production and screenplays are narratologically compared by means of Gérard Genette’s work “Narrative Discourse”.
