Sharing a similar fate with several important authors, Ömer Seyfettin was known in his agef ar his most acclaimed works, while far some of his other works to get renown many years had ta pass. "Primo Türk Çocuğu", a story set in a bloodiest age in the Balkans, likewise needed more than a century after its publication ta become the focus of analyses. However, tlıe story received some unfair treatment by expects that were not witHin the discipline of Turkish literature and tlıat preserved their politcally biased standing analysing the work. Iıı this study, political approaches set aside, the work is analysed in its narrative value and its principal theme is aimed ta be clearly determined. This endeavour also has the quality of offering a direct respoııse to t/ıose that criticise the work.
