THE READING STUDY OF THE MYTHIC ELEMENTS WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF THE QUEST OF THE HERO IN THE NOVELS, IRON EARTH COPPER SKY AND THE UNDYİNG GRASS
Named as the narratives of archaic societies, having the traces of social and cultural characteristics, being related to the humanistic experiences, the myths that are remarkable with the survival of its existence in collective unconscious have taken parts as a product, fictional product, aesthetical product, and a symbol in art. Yasar Kemal, one of the conspicuous writers in the Turkish literature, benefited from the mythic factors, too. While in the novel Iron Earth, Copper Sky in the trilogy The Wind from The Plain he, displaying the mythical conscious’ process of the myth producing, mentions that the people hoping a savior to come creates a hero with the archetypes in the collective unconscious, in the novel The Undying Grass he demonstrates the myth destroying, and the factors causing to this. In the research, the mentioned novels is searched in an appropriate way to the stages for the hero mythos, and is analyzed by involving the process of the myth destroying in the work The Hero with a Thousand Faces by Joseph Campbell.
