SOME DETERMINATIONS ON THE VALUE SYSTEM OF “HÜRRİYET KASİDESİ”
Namık Kemal, one of the prominent artists of modern Turkish literature, has written works in different literary genres. He became a poet more known for his poems. Namık Kemal, Abraham Sinasi and Ziya Pasha are among the poets who make the transition from the classical poetry understanding to the modern poetry. He has innovated in the theme rather than form, has brought new themes in poetry. His new themes he brought by poetry are shaped around concepts like homeland, nation, right, justice, freedom. During the downfall of Ottoman Empire he utters these themes aloud with romantic sensitivity. In his works, the feeling of bonding to high ideals and values and thought is processed. He acts with the desire to create a thrill of showing high values to the people with the love of motherland and nation in the frame of social literary understanding. The main factor that is also effective in this is the power conditions that the country is in. Namık Kemal is charged with a task that finds meaning in the sense that the power conditions are over, the literary values show high values, people unite around common feeling and excitement. In this article, the value sequence and the meaning of these values in the "Hürriyet Kasidesi" (“Freedom Ode”) will be discussed.
