THE REVIEW OF CIGERDELEN’S WOMAN CHARACTERS BASED ON C. G. JUNG’S COLLECTIVE UNCONSCIOUS THEORY
Safiye Erol is one of the most important woman authors in modern Turkish literature. Principle themes of her novels are the search for identity of the person and the struggle to reach national consciousness. Erol, creates modern female types and writes the lifetime maturation period of female characters especially. Carl Gustav Jung is the important psychoanalyst of the 20th century. He developed the collective unconscious theory and archetypes. In this study, Safiye Erol’s most popular novel Cigerdelen will be addressed and important woman characters of this novel will be examinated with the Carl Gustav Jung’s collective unconscious theory.
