SUICIDE: THE STRUGGLE OF WOMEN’S WITH ONTOLOGİAL PROBLEMS IN RASİM ÖZDENÖREN’S SHORT STORIES NAMED “HIŞIRTI” AND “GÖL”
In this study, it is aimed to examine the conceptual fact of cuicide in Rasim Özdenören’s short stories named “Hışırtı” and “ Göl”, in terms of existentialistic problem. The concept “suicide” is a crucial term that reveals also the psychological attitude of the individuals, who experience existence problems in the conflict of outer world, to make sense for themselves and their lives. Because is the only creature, as natüre, to expand his own eexistence by exceeding his life circle. He owes this to his perception gift. The
attitude shown against the insistances of the outer World affects their psychological circumstances deeply by passing through their perception filter. Because of the damage that rapid change causes on the value world, the individuals, who become strangers to each other and to the life, craving in emptiness and nullity feelings pushes them intosearching for new sense. In this context, several existentialistic problem go with the concept of alienation. The literary terms such as Nullity/Emptiness/Loneliness/Escape, death and suicide locate onto the heart of the work. Rasim Özdenören, by using these terms, builts external world’s enforcements over the individual’s psycharacter. Therefore, the concept of suicide acts out individual’s psychological situation as a female aspect in which they aren’t able to resis against outer World and struggle in hopeless/sociological and psychological aspects.
